HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – Hillsdale College President Larry Arnn says in a video for incoming students posted on the college’s web site that they plan to open for in-person classes August 23, 2020.
Arnn says 175 year old college has overcome many obstacles including the Civil War and the Great Depression.
He pointed out, “we weathered those, and we are going to weather this. In fact, we are going to weather this easier than those.”
But if they are not allowed to reopen, they will not disobey a shutdown order but Arnn doesn’t think that’s going to happen.
The first coronavirus cases in Michigan took place while Hillsdale students were on spring break in March and in person classes were not able to resume. All courses had to be taught on line starting March 23.
