WASHINGTON D.C. (WHTC-AM/FM) – At least 17 states are calling on Congress to investigate China’s role in the coronavirus pandemic.
Leading the effort is South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson, who sent a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell demanding both chambers’ foreign relations committees hold hearings.
Michigan 6th District Congressman Fred Upton wants some answers from Bejing too.
“I know that all of us have been frustrated that the CDC and other agencies are not allowed into China, to look into data in terms of what China might have withheld,” the St. Joseph Republican said on “WHTC Morning News” during his weekly interview on Tuesday, “and until we know what those answers are, those questions are going to linger.”
There has been no comment on this call for an investigation thus far from Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel.
