BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Mental health treatment facility Summit Pointe will be expanding its services in the area thanks to a $3.9 million grant.
WWMT reports that the grant was issued by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, which is a branch of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
“Together with our collaborative partners, Summit Pointe is committed to improving access to behavioral health care in our community,” Summit Pointe CEO Jeannie Goodrich said. “We want to ensure that individuals are receiving the necessary care to enhance and improve behavioral and physical health.”
The Battle Creek Enquirer also reports that the money will be used to improve mental health and substance abuse disorder services.
This grant isn’t the only funding the facility has recently received. The United Way Battle Creek and Kalamazoo announced Monday that a total of $731,386 has been dispersed to Battle Creek area businesses and facilities, including Summit Pointe.
