KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo resident is facing multiple gun and drug charges after shots were fired in the city’s Vine Neighborhood.
On Friday, Kalamazoo Public Safety officers heard numerous gunshots to the northeast while they were in the 1200 block of Oak Street near Axtell Street. They then saw a subject running from the area.
The suspect fled into the 400 block of Ranney Street near South Park Street and officers launched a K9 track where they located the subject a short distance away hiding under a porch.
The 23-year-old Kalamazoo resident was arrested on multiple firearms and drug related charges after officers found a stolen handgun, crack cocaine, and various prescription medications.
The suspect was lodged at the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department. No other details have been released.
