KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A man is in the Kalamazoo County Jail after a dispute between roommates resulted in gunfire.
Kalamazoo Township Police were called to the 1400 block of Stamford Avenue near Ann Street around 6 a.m. Saturday after a report of an armed man breaking into a home.
When they arrived they saw a woman hanging from a second story window trying to escape the home as well as shots being fired inside the residence.
After an hour of negotiations, the suspect surrendered without incident.
During the investigation, officers learned that the 33-year-old Kalamazoo Township resident came home upset and engaged his roommates in an argument.
During the argument a firearm was discharged causing the roommates to flee the home.
No one was injured by gunfire; however, the victims did sustain injuries during the incident and were taken to a local hospital.
The Kalamazoo County Prosecuting Attorney is reviewing the case. No other details have been released at this time.
