PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A restaurant that has been serving meals to customers for 33 years in the Kalamazoo area has announced that it will be closing for good.
The owners of Bravo! Restaurant and Cafe said in a statement on the eatery’s Facebook page that they decided to permanently close the location.
“After much discussion and exploration of alternatives, we have come to the difficult decision to permanently close Bravo! Restaurant and Cafe,” the business partners said in a statement.
Bravo! closed on March 16th after Governor Gretchen Whitmer issued an executive order temporarily banning in-person dining at bars and restaurants to slow the growth of COVID-19.
The restaurant has been serving seafood, steak, and other upscale dishes at its 5402 Portage Road location since the 1980s. The company has also brewed its own Bravo! beer for customers.
In a show of appreciation, the owners said thank you to all of the community members who supported the business in the post.
“We have been with you for first dates, prom nights, rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions, baby showers, anniversaries, retirement parties and so much more. We have come to know many of you as a family. We will always appreciate the trust you placed in us,” the statement reads.
