KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A teen is in custody after shots were fired on Kalamazoo’s Eastside.
Around 11:20 a.m. on Sunday the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety’s Operations Division was called to a report of a subject shooting at another person inside of a vehicle.
When officers arrived they located evidence from the shooting and received a good description of a possible suspect.
Authorities canvassed the area and located the suspect, but the teen ran into a residence in the 1100 block of Bridge Street, east of Riverview Drive.
Moments later, the 17-year-old Kalamazoo resident exited the residence and was arrested without incident.
Officers searched the home and found the suspected firearm used in the shooting as well as an additional firearm and suspected cocaine.
The teen was booked into the Kalamazoo County Jail on numerous charges including resisting and obstructing arrest, felony firearms, carrying a concealed weapon and reckless discharge of a firearm.
