KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — An investigation is underway after a fire broke out at an abandoned business in downtown Kalamazoo.
Public Safety officers were called to the former home of Rupert’s Brew House in the 770 block of West Michigan Avenue near Academy Street around 11 p.m. Monday and found heavy smoke coming from the roof of the structure.
Crews quickly extinguished the blaze. The Fire Marshal is now looking into the cause of the fire.
No one was inside the building at the time and there were no reports of any injuries. The brewery closed down for good in September of 2019.
