KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The coronavirus pandemic is continuing to affect summer traditions and other big events.
The Kalamazoo Farmers Market, which was set to open on May 2nd, announced that instead they are tentatively rescheduling their opening day for June 6th.
Organizers released a statement on their website saying, “Please understand that this is a tentative plan and may change. The circumstances around the pandemic have been evolving rapidly, so this date may change as the situation continues to develop.”
When the market does open again, new precautions will be put in place to promote social distancing as well as the sale of necessary grocery items like fresh produce, bread, meat, cheese, pre-packaged foods meant for at-home consumption, personal hygiene items and pet treats/food.
