KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A new program is launching in Kalamazoo to help feed those on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Feed the Fight is an idea that began in Washington, D.C. and is now being used around the country. Local activist Sally Hadden, as well a co-organizers Jodi Michaels and Adam Morse jumped on the opportunity to bring this nonprofit organization to Kalamazoo.
Through Feed the Fight Kalamazoo, community members donate money which is used to purchase meals from local restaurants and then the food is delivered to healthcare workers and first responders.
According to their website, “Feed the Fight has the double impact of driving business to local restaurants working to stay operational while thanking and supporting healthcare workers and first responders fighting on the front lines of this unprecedented crisis.”
On Monday the first meals from Maggie’s Cafe and Middle Eastern Appetite will be delivered to Bronson Methodist Hospital, thanks to the generous support of the community.
