KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Michigan is among the top states when it comes to social distancing, according to data collected by a recent survey.
The survey is officially known as the Social Distancing Scoreboard. It was conducted by Unacast, who awarded the state an “A” grade. According to the data provided, Michigan has seen a 45% reduction in travel activity during the COVID-19 outbreak.
In order to earn an “A” grade through the survey methods, a score of 40% or higher was required, while anything lower would result in a “B” grade and so on. The survey indicates that the United States as a whole currently has a “B” grade.
Each county within the state has also been evaluated, with Kalamazoo among the top five highest-rated counties. The other top-rated counties include Luce, Livingston, Oakland and Ingham counties.
The lowest-rated counties are Alcona, Iron, Presque Isle, Mackinac and Houghton counties, according to the data.
On a state-wide level, the states currently receiving the worst grades are Oregon, New Mexico, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming.
