KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A suspect was arrested for allegedly firing 30 shots from an assault style rifle near Galesburg.
The Kalamazoo County sheriff’s office says deputies responded to a call of loud gunfire around 9:30 p.m. on Monday. A Comstock Township resident told police they heard multiple shots being fired near the 1000 block of North 33rd Street.
When police arrived they noticed a suspicious vehicle leaving the area.
Authorities stopped the driver and found both a gun and ammunition, upon which they verified the individual was the one firing the shots.
The suspect reportedly did not fire at any particular target or person, and nobody was hurt during the incident.
The sheriff’s office says the incident remains under investigation and that it has not been determined yet whether the driver will face charges.
