KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — UPDATE: The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warrant for the arrest of a suspect thought to be involved in the March 8 in shooting that occurred at Canterbury Apartments.
Around 1:30 a.m. on March 8, Kalamazoo County Sheriff deputies were called to the 700 block of Dragonfly Road at the Canterbury House Apartments near Drake Road.
They found 30-year-old Kalamazoo citizen Elijah Fuquan Roberson in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to Bronson Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
On Monday, the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office announced the warrant for David Lawrence Barnes, a 45-year-old Kalamazoo resident. He is described as being 5’8” at 220 pounds with a stocky build.
Anyone with information about the location of Barnes is asked to contact the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office or Silent Observer. Currently, a $1,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the location and arrest of Barnes.
Police say that Barnes should be considered armed and dangerous.
