VAN BUREN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A fire has destroyed a Van Buren County furniture business just two years after a blaze ravaged the same property.
Firefighters responded around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, March 2nd to Mim’s Furniture on M-43 in Arlington Township.
South Haven Area Emergency Services says that six Van Buren County fire departments arrived at the scene where they worked to put out the flames in the building’s attic, releasing thick amounts of smoke into the air. Crews required additional water to be brought in tankers to the location to extinguish the fire.
Mim’s Furniture was previously rebuilt after being completely destroyed in a fire on December 31st, 2018.
Bangor Community Firefighters along with Columbia, Hartford, Lawrence, Bloomingdale, and South Haven departments assisted in putting out the flames.
A request has been sent to the State Fire Marshall to investigate the cause of the fire.
