SPRINGFIELD, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Calhoun County man is facing multiple charges for possessing child pornography after a state crime unit arrested him earlier this month.
41-year-old Donald Couch was arrested on Sunday, February 2nd after a Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed a warrant and found the material at his Springfield home.
Michigan State Police previously received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reporting Couch’s suspicious activity.
He was arraigned the next day on February 3rd on charges of child sexually abusive activity, possession of child sexually abusive material, distribution of child sexually abusive material, and use of a computer to commit a crime.
State authorities say that it is important for parents to talk with their children about safe use of the internet and to communicate anything they feel is suspicious.
