LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Michigan citizens will now have the opportunity to take care of some Secretary of State-related errands at certain Meijer locations.
The partnership between both parties has resulted in the installment of around 30 self-service kiosks installed across the state, including two in the Kalamazoo area.
Tabs for most vehicles can be printed directly from the machine, however, tabs for watercraft vehicles will be mailed to a home address instead. Plates for most vehicles can be redeemed through the kiosk as well.
Customers should note that the machine cannot update addresses or renew driver’s licenses through the kiosk. According to the Secretary of State website, a $3.95 service fee will be applied for every vehicle renewed at the station. A 2.3% processing fee will also be applied if paying by credit or debit card.
“Meijer stores are a favorite shopping spot for many Michiganders, and now many of them will also be a place where you can complete Secretary of State transactions, such as renewing your tabs,” Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson said in a statement. “We’re very pleased to partner with Meijer to bring this convenience to our mutual customers.”
