DEARBORN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — AAA is reporting that the average price of gas per gallon is seeing an increase of 5 cents this week.
Officials say the average price is $2.41 per gallon for regular unleaded. This makes the price 12 cents less than last month and about 3 cents more than this time last year.
The average price for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline is clocking in at around $36, which is around $8 cheaper than when prices peaked last July.
AAA is providing the following data about where gas is the cheapest and most expensive in Michigan:
- Most expensive gas price averages: Marquette ($2.49), Jackson ($2.45), Saginaw ($2.43)
- Least expensive gas price averages: Traverse City ($2.23), Metro Detroit ($2.39), Ann Arbor ($2.41)
The Metro Kalamazoo area is currently listed as being among the cheapest places to buy gas in Michigan, with an average price reported at $2.34 a gallon.
