SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN (WKZO AM/FM) — Whether you love the freezing temps or could live without them, Old Man Winter is alive and well in the region.
The school closings list is growing longer and longer as Thursday morning continues.All Kalamazoo Public Schools are closed for February 13th. Some of the other cancellations in Kalamazoo County include Climax-Scotts, Galesburg-Augusta, Gull Lake, Parchment, Portage, Schoolcraft, and Vicksburg Community Schools.

The National Weather Service Office in Grand Rapids has issued a winter weather advisory taking effect for most of Southwest Michigan starting 7 P.M. on Wednesday, February 12th and continuing until 7 P.M. Thursday, February 13th.
Impacted areas include Allegan, Barry, Eaton, Clinton, Calhoun, Kalamazoo, Kent, Ingham, Ionia, Jackson, Ottawa, and Van Buren Counties.
Some areas can expect between two to four inches of snowfall, mostly concentrated in southern Michigan and along the Lake Michigan shoreline. NWS is warning that drivers could experience slick roads and black ice, especially in areas of high accumulation south of I-196.
