DETROI, MI — GM announced this morning that about 47,000 U.S. hourly workers at General Motors will receive a profit-sharing check of $8,000.
That’s down from $10,750 for the rank and file in 2018, but still within the range predicted by most industry analysts.
GM said this morning last year’s strike cost it about $2.6 billion in pretax profits. Overall, the automakers pretax profit for 2019 was $8.2 billion.
