CASS COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a crash on Sunday morning sent one South Bend citizen to a hospital.
Just before 10 a.m., police were called on a report of a personal injury crash that occurred on Decatur Road, which is north of Fosdick St. in Volinia Township, Cass County Michigan.
Police say that a 50-year-old South Bend resident, Yvonna Bruce, was south bound on Decatur Road when she rear ended a stationary vehicle parked off the roadway.
The second vehicle belonged to 43-year -old Granger resident Michael Lorenz, who was waiting on a wrecker from a previous car deer accident. Lorenz was outside of his vehicle at the time of the crash.
Bruce had three passengers in her vehicle, all of which were wearing seat belts at the time. The front seat passenger, 18-year-old Julia Applewhite of South Bend, was transported by Life Care EMS to Borgess Lee Memorial for minor injures.
Alcohol and drugs are not suspected factors in this crash, which remains under investigation at this time.
