KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — One person is seriously injured after a head-on crash in Kalamazoo’s Milwood Neighborhood.
It happened around 7:45 a.m. Thursday when a public safety officer witnessed the collision at the intersection of Portage Street and East Cork Street.
First responders had to extricate one of the drivers by using hydraulic tools, also known as the “jaws of life,” on the vehicle.
Four people were evaluated and one was taken to Bronson Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injures.
Traffic at the intersection was restricted for about 2.5 hours while crash reconstructionists from the Kalamazoo Forensic Crime Lab investigated the incident.
The cause of the crash was not released.
