COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo County Medical Examiner’s Office is declaring a death that occurred in Comstock Township about a month ago as an accidental drug overdose.
38-year-old Lyle Timothy Hess of Kalamazoo was found unconscious at a home in the 5500 block of Electra Street on December 29th and was pronounced dead when police arrived.
A 30-year-old woman was taken into custody but was never officially charged and was later released. In the early stages of the investigation authorities say an assault had taken place between the two.
At the time of the incident, friends of Hess explained that they believed meth played a role in his death.
Authorities released a statement on Thursday saying that no further charges are being sought and the investigation has been closed.
