Authorities were dispatched to a home in the 700 block of Louise Avenue just after 1:30 a.m. Monday where they found a 40-year-old Dowagiac man dead from a gunshot wound.
Investigators say two people entered the home, killed the victim, and tied up three other people inside the residence as they searched for items to steal.
The three others were not injured and the suspects fled the scene. Dowagiac Police located one of the suspects, a 38-year-old man from White Pigeon who once lived at that home, at a location north of Three Rivers and took him into custody.

The suspects have since been identified as Justin Robert-Gabriel Carlton, 41, and Jay Vincent Penar, 38.
Police say this was not a random incident and that the residence was specifically targeted by the suspects.
Both are in the Cass County Jail on murder charges and several others.
