KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Older Adult Services Division of Kalamazoo County Government Health & Community Services (Area Agency on Aging IIIA) has announced that it will be hosting the 2020 Senior Millage Programs Showcase this week.
The purpose of this Showcase is to inform older adults, their caregivers, and professionals on services in Kalamazoo County funded by the Senior Millage, which was approved by voters in August of 2018.
The services include the following:
Area Agency on Aging programs: Information & Assistance, Care Management, Healthy Living programs, and Long Term Care Ombudsman
- Adult Day Care and Respite Services through WMU Adult Wellness Programs and Adult Day Services at Oakland Centre
- Medicare & Medicaid Assistance Programs through Senior Services Southwest Michigan
- Home Delivered Meals through Senior Services Southwest Michigan
- Home Repair Programs through Senior Services Southwest Michigan
- Senior Center & Volunteer Support through Ecumenical Senior Center, Portage Senior Center, South County Community Services, Senior Services Southwest Michigan
- Legal Assistance and Guardianship through Legal Aide of Western Michigan and Guardian Finance & Advocacy Services
- Transportation Services through Ecumenical Senior Center, South County Community Services, and The Shepherd’s Center
“We are extremely proud of the services offered by the Senior Millage.” said James Rutherford, Health Officer of Kalamazoo County Health & Community Services Department. “We encourage residents of all ages to learn more about the services they provide and how they can impact you or your loved ones.”
The presentation will take place on Thursday, January 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Older Adult Services Division, which is located on 311 E. Alcott st.
