KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A potential arson stemming from a kitchen fire is now being investigated by the Kalamazoo Fire Marshall’s Office.
The fire broke out on a residential duplex on James Street, believed to have started on the second floor kitchen during the morning of Tuesday, January 28th.
When fire crews arrived around 11:00 A.M. they found the second-floor tenants were not home, and that the first-floor occupants were able to escape the flames.
The second-floor tenants of the duplex were served a 24-hour eviction notice by their property manager on Monday.
Kalamazoo Public Safety firefighters report that no one was hurt in the incident.
