KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Public Safety Officers responded to 400 Dillingham Lane for a report of an armed robbery around 11 p.m. Friday.
The victim told police she was approached by a male who pointed a gun at her head and demanded her property. She reported that he then fled the scene with her purse and cellphone.
Kalamazoo Public Safety officers responded, and K-9 Nero was called in to track the suspect. The K-9 tracked to an apartment building located in the 600 block of Carrington Court where he was found to be in possession of the victim’s purse as well as the handgun used in the incident.
The suspect was arrested and lodged at Kalamazoo County Jail with charges of Armed Robbery, Felon in Possession of a Firearm,Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony and Resisting andObstructing a Police Officer. The suspect was also a parole absconder.
