KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) –Kalamazoo city officials are lifting a boil water advisory for some homeowners in the Oakwood neighborhood.
On Friday the precautionary advisory was issued mainly for a portion of Knox Street but it also affected select residents on Parkview Avenue, Amherst Avenue, and Lowden Street.
But just after 5 p.m. Sunday a statement was released saying that the water samples have been deemed safe to drink and the boil water advisory has been removed.

KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The City of Kalamazoo has issued a boil water advisory after a water main break was reported in the Oakwood neighborhood.
The precautionary advisory was issued on Friday, January 24th and covers all water intended for drinking or consumption.
City officials say the affected areas include the southeast corner of Parkview Avenue and Knox Street, both sides of Amherst Avenue from Knox Street to Lowden Street, and the northwest corner of Lowden Street and Amherst Avenue.
The advisory is expected to be lifted within 72 hours of being issued, or on Monday, January 27th.
