PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Portage Northern High School and Hackett Catholic Prep went under lockdown Thursday afternoon, after a suspect with a warrant was seen running from officers in the area.
Earlier, officers responded to a call of a domestic disturbance at the Holiday Motel on South Westnedge Avenue from which the suspect fled on foot.
The incident prompted police to request both schools be put on lockdown as a precaution.
The lockdown was lifted shortly after the suspect was arrested almost immediately after the lockdown near the Black Rock Bar on Trade Center Way.
No students or staff were hurt during the incident according to police.
