GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WTVB) – Heavy fog in Chicago had a ripple effect for travelers planning to leave from the Gerald R. Ford International Airport outside of Grand Rapids Christmas Eve.
The heavy fog in Chicago pushed back connecting flight times, forcing cancellations, and delays at other airports.
More than 115 million people were expected to travel this holiday season, according to AAA, one of the biggest travel seasons on record. They estimate seven million people were taking planes to their destinations.
