VICKSBURG, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Village of Vicksburg is preparing to host its “Christmas in the Village” festival this weekend with several types of activities planned.
The event will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14th with a bake sale at the Historic Village, followed by a model train exhibit at 10 a.m.
Following the exhibition, the Vicksburg Winter Farmers’ Market will take place at 110 S. Main Street, with several other area businesses participating in the festivities.
Shops in the area marked with Elf Workshop signs will have several arts and crafts activities planned for children through the day.
Pet owners may be excited to know that, for the first time ever, pets and children can visit and take pictures with Santa Paws at Cuts 4 Mutts grooming from 2 to 4 p.m.
At 5:30 p.m., the annual Vicksburg Christmas parade will take place on Main Street.
The event is hosted by the Vicksburg Downtown Development Authority (DDA) with presenting sponsor Frederick Construction.
“The event has grown into something magical and fantastic; We are grateful for all of the contributions from all our sponsors,” DDA Vice Chairperson and Christmas in the Village Co-Chair Mary Ruple said. “This year, we have set a record for the number of sponsors for the event and theircontributions. We continue to build off the success of the event from years past.”
