BENTON HARBOR, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Police have released the name of a Benton Harbor woman who died after being shot in the head on Sunday.
29-year-old Quintina Jeffries was shot around 11:20 A.M. on May Street near Salem Avenue. Benton Harbor Public Safety officers recieved calls about a severely injured woman in the area and were dispatched to the scene, where they found Jeffries dead.
According to police, she was a city resident and the mother of an 8-year-old son.
Investigators are trying to figure out the circumstances behind the shooting, but believe it might involve foul play. An active investigation involving multiple witnessess is ongoing.
