COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A sunken vehicle pulled out of a Kalamazoo County lake is now off to be recycled.
The muddy 1967 Chevy Impala was found in Morrow Lake in Comstock Township on November 26th as crews were lowering the lake levels to do some scheduled maintenance on the dam.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff deputies found nothing suspicious inside the vehicle and began digging through records to see if they could find the original owner, but they later learned that the sunken vehicle was reported stolen back in 1974.
They say they have no other records to help with the case so the car will just be recycled.
