GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Wyoming police have released the name of a 15-year-old boy killed by a gunshot wound early Saturday morning.
Authorities report that Emanuel Jesus Hernandez of Grand Rapids was found dead inside a vehicle at the intersection of Byron Center Southwest and Prairie Park Southwest at around 1:15 a.m.
The driver was apparently attempting to take him to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mourning family members held a vigil at the intersection Sunday night and are begging for answers. At last reported, nobody is in custody at this time and it’s unclear what sparked the shooting.
