DOWAGIAC, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Southwest Michigan area woman is preparing for her third night on the television game show Jeopardy, defeating her other opponents during the last two appearances.
Dowagiac’s Jennifer Quail was able to secure a second consecutive win on the program’s Thursday, December 5th episode.
Quail dominated during her first night on the trivia show, leading with $35,200 compared to the next closest player’s $6,000 before heading into Final Jeopardy. She correctly wagered $10,000 during that final round bring her total winning amount to $45,200.
The second night saw the Michigan -ative fall behind before eventually clinching a second victory. Leading right out of the gate, Quail led scores at the first break with $3,200.
She was caught off-guard by fellow contestant Kelly Gerhold of Bakersfield, California, who took advantage of later stumbles by Quail to eclipse her in the final round with $16,100 to $13,800.
Quail successfully answered through the final category “Holiday Songs”, while Gerhold faltered. The close margin led her to wager big and gamble $10,000 on the final clue. Quail ultimately won the day, bringing her two-day total prize amount to $74,800.
She will return to “Jeopardy” on Friday night to defend her championship run.
