BENTON HARBOR, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Police in Benton Harbor are reporting that a 66-year-old woman was shot by a stray bullet Saturday night.
Around 11:05 p.m., police responded to gunfire near Broadway Park, later realizing that a stray bullet had pierced through a home in the 900 block of Pavone Street.
Police say that the woman was watching TV in her bed during the gunfire when she was struck.
Further investigation has led police to believe that the woman was an unintended victim of the shooting.
Multiple suspects were seen running from the park. Police are currently working on identifying who those individuals are. Security camera footage in the area is also being reviewed.
The woman was last reported in critical condition as of Sunday.
