KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety officers say nobody was injured after a car smashed through a business near Portage.
A 79-year-old woman was driving a small SUV around 12:45 p.m. Thursday when she crashed through the front door of Field’s Fabrics on Portage Road near the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport.
The vehicle came to a stop about 20-feet inside the building.
Public Safety officers say the woman, who was not hurt, was able to get out of the vehicle on her own and nobody inside the business were injured.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash. It’s unclear if the driver was cited or specifics on what led up to the crash.
