KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — UPDATE: Police are reporting that second victim was shot in the murder of Alex Johnson on Wednesday, Nov. 13th.
Police say that an altercation took place between Johnson and the shooter, 22-year-old GaBreon “GK” Wells-Lindsey, that resulted in Johnson being shot.
Police say that one of the bullets that struck Johnson passed through and hit another man present.
The second victim was treated at a local hospital for the bullet which was stuck in his back. This victim was one of the witnesses that identified Wells-Lindsey as the shooter.
It has been established that Wells-Lindsey and Johnson knew each other since high school. They played basketball on the same team together.
Investigators say the shooting was the result of an ongoing feud between the two.

A Kalamazoo man appeared before a judge in district court to be arraigned on charges of killing a 19-year-old after a dispute at an apartment complex.
22-year-old GaBreon “GK” Wells-Lindsey was arraigned Wednesday on murder charges in the shooting death of former Loy Norrix High School classmate Alex Johnson.
Additonally, prosecutors charged Wells-Lindsey with one count each of open murder, felony firearms, and carrying a concealed weapon.
According to police, Johnson was shot at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019, outside Hidden Hills Apartment, in an area blocks away from the main campus of Western Michigan Uniersity.
After authorities arrived, Johnson was rushed to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Another bullet hit a second victim, injuring that person, according to documents provided by the court.
Wells-Lindsey was apprehened around 11 A.M. later that morning and taken into custody.
Wells-Lindsey is a 2016 Loy Norrix graduate. The two played together on the boy’s basketball team from 2016 to 2018.
