PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A man is now being charged for stealing over $80,000 worth of jewelry from a Portage store over a year ago.
Demond Antonio Manley Jr. was charged on Tuesday with interference with commerce by robbery in federal court.
He and 2 other suspects are accused of smashing display cases and taking about 22-items from the Helzberg Diamonds on Westnedge Avenue in August of last year.
Manley, who was arrested last month, was identified by DNA evidence officers collected at the scene.
He is also a suspect in several other smash and grab robberies including one in Lansing, Saginaw, and Fort Wayne Indiana.
