KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Rotary Club of Kalamazoo Sunrise, together with the Kalamazoo County Veterans Service Office and the Kalamazoo Veterans Events Committee, are collaborating to present the 2019 Kalamazoo County Veterans Day Ceremony this Monday.
Due to the freezing temps, the ceremony will take place at Kalamazoo Valley Museum’s auditorium instead of outside at the Rose Park Veterans Memorial.
According to an official press release, this year’s program will pay tribute to Robert L. Cook, a Marine and dynamic leader of Veterans, who was the individual most responsible for the creation and continued support of the Rose Park Veterans Memorial, which is being renamed in his honor.
The ceremony will also feature presentations from guest speakers such as former State Senator Cameron Brown, a scholar of American history and the leader of the Kalamazoo Abraham Lincoln Project.
Free parking for the event is provided in the nearby parking structure. Attendees can bring their parking tickets to the museum for validation.
The Kalamazoo Valley Museum auditorium is located at 230 North Rose Street. The ceremony will begin at 2:15 p.m. and is free to the public.
