KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The cause of a house fire in Kalamazoo is currently being investigated by the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.
Officials say that on Saturday, Nov. 11th, a house fire occurred in the 1000 block of N. Pitcher St. around 8:15 a.m.
The citizen who called it in advised that the rear of the home was on fire. Upon arrival, public safety officers observed flames coming from a second story bedroom.
The occupants of the home were safely evacuated, while the fire was quickly extinguished and contained to the second story bedroom.
The Red Cross was contacted to provide assistance to the displaced occupants.
Although a family member had to be transported to the hospital for an unrelated medical issue, no one was injured during this incident.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety’s Fire Marshal’s office.
