KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A suspect is at large after an attempted armed robbery which resulted in the discharge of a pistol in Kalamazoo’s Knollwood Neighborhood.
It happened around 1:45 a.m. Friday outside the Kenbrooke Court Condominiums near Michigan Avenue.
Public Safety officers say the victim was approached by an armed man as his left his vehicle to walk into his residence.
During the attempted robbery the victim tried to disarm the suspect which resulted in the pistol going off. Nobody was struck, but the victim suffered a minor hand injury from the slide of the pistol.
The gunman, described as a thin black man about 5’10”, fled on foot and jumped into a dark colored Chrysler Sedan with tinted windows.
