KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A suspicious package caused a bit of a scare Saturday at the post office on Drake Road.
A bomb squad with the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety along with a bomb sniffing dog with Western Michigan University Public Safety were called in to check out a box that was ticking.
Police say the box was x-rayed and it’s recipient was contacted. It turned out to be an electronic device with batteries inside of it that just started ticking.
Authorities say the package was then determined to be safe.
