KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo man is facing charges for sending hundreds of online threats to the Michigan State Police Department.
29-year-old Brandon James Owen was arraigned Thursday afternoon for one count of making terrorist threats and one count of using a computer to commit a crime.
Authorities say Owen sent nearly 300 text, audio, and violent video messages to the department’s Facebook page all within 1-week.
Detectives and troopers with the Michigan State Police Paw Paw Post located and arrested Owen at his home on Wednesday and also seized firearms, air pistols, and long guns that were modified to look like firearms.
He could face up to 40-years in prison if he is convicted on both charges.
