CHESTER TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Three children are dead and another is seriously injured after a vehicle rear-ended a horse and buggy in Eaton County.
It occurred just before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday on Vermontville Highway near Ainger Road in Chester Township.
Eaton County Sheriff deputies says the children, ranging between the ages of 6 and 13, were heading home from school when an elderly man drove into the back of the buggy.
Three of the children were pronounced dead at the scene while another was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. The at-fault driver was also taken to the hospital.
No names have been released and an investigation is underway.
This comes months after 3-siblings were killed when a pickup truck struck an Amish buggy in Branch County back in early June.
