MARSHALL, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Marshall-based Dark Horse Brewing Co. has announced a merger with Roak Brewing Company, which is based out of Royal Oak.
Dark Horse reportedly submitted a request to the Liquor Control Commission to transfer ownership of its brewing licenses to Roak.
Reports indicate that the two brands will remain available and independent from each other, and no layoffs are said to be planned.
Approval of the merger may take up to three months or more to process.
Dark Horse Brewery has been open since 1997.
The news comes following the closure of Boatyard Brewing Company in Kalamazoo last month.
