UNDATED MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Health officials are investigating 94 cases of severe lung illness that may be linked to vaping and e-cigarettes.
The Center For Disease Control says the issues were reported in 14 states including Michigan from late June to mid-August with 30 of those cases coming from Wisconsin.
Michigan State Representative Bronna Kahle of Adrian says vaping is dangerous, addictive and is something everyone should be concerned about, especially when it deals with children.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller says too many people believe kids should be able to use e-cigarettes because they believe they’re harmless when in fact toxins are stinking inside the lungs more than tobacco.
While some reported CDC cases are similar and appear to be linked to e-cigarette use, officials say more information is still needed.
