KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) – Resettlement organizations in Kalamazoo are expecting to welcome about 10 refugee families by the end of September, adding to the estimated 300 refugees who have found a home in Kalamazoo over the last three years, according to Bethany Christian Services.
A spokesperson for Bethany said that the organization and Samaritas are the two main groups resettling refugees in west Michigan.
The families coming to Kalamazoo next month are from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. They will add to the estimated 100 Congolese people who have already relocated to Kalamazoo.
