UNDATED, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Health officials are warning of a possible Salmonella contamination in 6 and 10-ounce spinach packages sold by Dole, which has led to a recall in Michigan.
Customers should be aware the the suspected packages have a sell-by date of August 5th, so they may be off shelves by now, but any product purchased before that date may still be in fridges and should be discarded immediately.
The FDA notes that the products have a UPC code of 0-71430-00964-2 for the six ounce package, and a UPC code of 0-71430-00016-8 for the 10 ounce package.
The outbreak was discovered by testing through the Michigan Department of Agriculture.
No illnesses have been reported at this time.
