HASTINGS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Police are investigating the drowning of an elderly man Saturday evening.
Authorities with the Barry County Sheriffs’ Office say an 87 year old male was pulled from the Thornapple River near Rivers Edge Lane in Middleville.
His body was discovered in the river by a group of kayakers who called 9-1-1 around 9 p.m.
While it’s unsure at this time how the man ended up in the river, police say there were no signs of foul play.
