KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Kalamazoo County facility is set to get solar panels.
County officials announced Thursday that the Parole/Probation building on Healey State will be fitted with the panels to help lower energy costs and increase the county’s use of renewable energy.
County Commission Chair Julie Rogers said Thursday that the reason the Healey facility was chosen was due to the high use of energy via the IT set up there.
She said in an interview with WKZO’s Ken Lanphear that this opportunity allows the county to offset the high energy use at that building with clean and renewable energy.
